We took a little trip between February 12 and March 9 2000, travelling ten thousand miles from Washington, DC to tour Australia and New Zealand with our pals Eric and Cindy. We had such a good time I had to chronicle the experience day-by-day, as a rough guide for anyone interested in what these places have to offer - and as a way for me to relive the journey.
Click through, enjoy, then find a way to take a few weeks vacation to make the trip yourself. I can't recommend it enough.

Note to Netscape users: for some reason pictures to the right of text will only enlarge if the text flows under them. Yeah it's weird. I'm working on it.

One for the Road by Tony Horwitz is a great read, recounting his dusty adventures hitchhiking across the continent.
